Introducing LTC Family Stage- Where families can take the stage together!
LTC Family Stage is Little Theater Company’s newest program designed to bring families together through the magic of musical theater. It’s a chance for kids, teens, parents, and even grandparents to share the stage — learning, laughing, and creating unforgettable memories side by side. Whether you’re an experienced performer or brand new to theater, Family Stage is a welcoming space where every generation can shine. Together, we build confidence, connection, and creativity — because at LTC, we believe the family that plays together, grows together.
Families sign up as a group to participate in a full-scale musical production, with a minimum rehearsal commitment of 1.5 hours a week in a fun, flexible schedule designed for busy households. Everyone who signs up is guaranteed a role in the ensemble and if chooses to audition for a bigger role is given a role that fits their comfort level — from leading parts to ensemble features — and no prior experience is required. Throughout the process, families learn songs, choreography, and scenes together under the guidance of professional directors and choreographers. It all culminates in a joyful performance weekend where families step into the spotlight together and share the magic of live theater with the community.
When you register, you’ll receive all audition details, script selections, and music to help your family prepare.

No need to worry! We will still have our regular JR and KIDS productions running next season. If your child chooses to stay in those, they are absolutely welcome to do so. However, if your family decides to join LTC Family Stage, we will honor any tuition already paid and apply it toward your spot in the Family Stage production.
Another reason we created LTC Family Stage is to give our All Stars the chance to take on a bigger challenge — a larger stage, a bigger audience, and a more complex production. Our All Stars will be considered for all lead roles in the Family Stage show. While lead roles can’t be guaranteed, every All Star will have the opportunity to perform in a speaking or featured role and continue growing as advanced performers within this exciting new experience.
Not a problem at all! We will continue running our JR and KIDS productions as normal. Families can choose whichever program best fits their performer’s goals and comfort level. Family Stage is simply an additional opportunity for those who want to experience performing together on a larger stage.
Nope! Parents and guardians are not required to perform. This program is about family opportunity, not obligation. If your child wants to experience performing on a larger stage with the Family Stage cast, this is their chance — and you’re welcome to cheer them on from the audience!
LTC Family Stage will take place every other year. Our primary focus remains nurturing our young performers through our JR and KIDS programs, but every other year, we’ll celebrate something special — a multi-generational production that brings the whole community together.
No experience required! We welcome every skill level — from first-timers to lifelong theater lovers. The goal is to create a supportive, fun, and inclusive experience for everyone involved.
As long as you can move and have the energy to be part of the fun — you’re welcome! We’re creating a space where every generation can shine together on stage.
No! This production is open to all ages and experience levels. While it’s called Family Stage because of the community feel, you don’t need to have children to participate — everyone becomes part of the LTC family once they join the cast.
We understand that life happens, so each performer can miss up to 4 rehearsals total. Please communicate any known conflicts early so we can plan accordingly and keep rehearsals running smoothly for everyone.
Costumes are not included. Each family will be responsible for providing their own costumes based on the official Costume Guide, which we’ll send out early in the rehearsal process. Don’t worry — it’s easy to follow and full of budget-friendly ideas!
Yes! Every family will contribute at least 10 volunteer hours toward the production. There are so many fun ways to get involved — building sets, painting, helping backstage, running concessions, assisting the tech team, and more. Theater is a team effort, and your help makes it all possible!
Rehearsals will be held at the LTC Studio in Alameda.
Performances will take place off-island at a professional theater in either Oakland or San Leandro.
During Tech Week, families will travel to and from the performance venue.
The participation fee is $595/performer. As always, we offer payment plans and scholarships to ensure every family who wants to participate can do so.
Auditions and placement sessions will happen in February 2026, with rehearsals beginning shortly after. An exact schedule and audition packet will be available in the coming weeks.
